NPK fertilizer inspection

Send request

NPK inspection is a process of quality control of goods at different stages of logistic chain, which minimizes major trade risks related to the likelihood of cargo delivered or received not according to agreed specification, not being supplied in agreed quantity or incomplete set of accompanying documents agreed between parties for NPK export/import operations is issued and received.

CISS GROUP provides NPK inspection services to large agribusinesses and international trading companies in intermediate storage warehouses, elevators, factories or ports around the world.

The distinctiveness of NPK inspection is that these products contain at least two essential components. These components may include nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and a variety of trace minerals. The storage of complex fertilizers in warehouses should be carried out in accordance with the certificate of each component, taking into account toxicity, form, fire hazard properties and chemical compatibility (neutrality). Joint transportation of various pesticides is not allowed, the chemical interaction of which, if the packaging is broken, may causes a fire. Fertilizers that arrive at the warehouse in bulk (unpacked) shall be stored separately.. The height of the pile - due to possibility of caking of fertilizers - shall be is no higher than 2 m, and for not crumbling fertilizers - no higher than 3 m. Packaged fertilizers should be stored in stacks on pallets, excluding possibility of moisture entering from below.

Accredited inspectors and laboratory technicians from CISS GROUP carry out NPK inspection at any point of the supply chain.

The main stages of NPK inspection:

Incoming/outgoing NPK inspection.

It is carried out during delivery of NPK to silos or to a port, or at releasing it from factory/silo warehouses. The CISS GROUP inspector will visually assess the condition of the premises for the suitability for cargo storage; will check the cargo itself so that it is dry, not mixed with other cargo, not damp or wet, free from pests, foreign matter, weeds, mold or foreign odors. If NPK is delivered in bags, the inspector will inspect them for traces of soaking, and if agreed, will perform the selected bag opening for sampling purpose and further visual check of cargo quality.

Acceptance of cleanliness containers / holds of vessels before loading NPK.

This is a visual inspection of containers and empty holds for their cleanliness and suitability for NPK transportation. The inspector carefully examines their internal surfaces, checks the integrity and condition of locks, hinges and other fasteners on the container doors, rubber seals for container doors and hold covers.

Visual control of the loading process and sampling of NPK.

During loading, the inspector controls the loading of NPK, confirms the gross / net weight during re-weighing; in the case of loading NPK into the holds - the initial, intermediate and final check of the weight of the loaded cargo by the draft survey method, controls the fumigation process; conducts a visual assessment of the quality of the cargo, takes samples in accordance with sampling rules, forms composite samples. At the end of the loading, the inspector will seal the loaded containers or holds. He enters all the data into reports to which the client gets direct access. Note that the CISS GROUP loading inspection and sampling can be carried out around the clock on 24/7 basis.

Laboratory analyzes of NPK quality.

We check the quality of NPK exclusively in accordance with international standards and national methods (ISO, CEN, TFI (The Fertilizer Institute)) and others. For NPK standard quality indicators include: NPK composition, nitrogen forms - total nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, ammonium nitrogen, amide nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, sulfate sulfur, acidity (pH), trace elements - iron, molybdenum, zinc, copper, manganese, boron, cobalt, biuret in carbamide, particle size distribution, organic matter, humates, fulvic acids, moisture, ash content, C: N ratio , heavy metals - cadmium, lead, zinc, nickel, copper, chromium, cobalt, arsenic, pesticide residues.

In addition to basic analyzes, laboratory analyses can determine friability of fertilizers, its particle size distribution and static strength of granules.

Photo and video report.

The inspector records each stage of the inspection with photos and videos. All such data contain the date and time of recorded stage of inspection. At the end of the NPK inspection, CISS GROUP provides a detailed photo report of all stages of control and inspection.

Certificates.

Based on the results of the NPK inspection the final certificate or reports are issued. The client can check the authenticity of the documents using a unique QR code, which is the "key" to the CISS GROUP website, where pdf versions of certificates are stored. Our certificates are protected with a digital cryptographic signature, which also guarantees their reliability and security.

Digitally signed certificates are often required by banks to verify the integrity of trading process when financing trade operations in the form of a letter of credit.
