Gas oil inspection
Gas oil inspection is a process of quality control of goods at different stages of logistic chain, which minimizes major trade risks related to the likelihood of cargo delivered or received not according to agreed specification, not being supplied in agreed quantity or incomplete set of accompanying documents agreed between parties for gas oil export/import operations is issued and received.
CISS GROUP provides gas oil inspection services to large oil companies and international trading companies in intermediate storage facilities, factories or ports around the world.
A gas oil inspection differs for a light gas oil and a heavy gas oil. Light gas oil is liquid, easily fluid, non-viscous. Heavy gas oil is more viscous, and depending on the storage temperature can become very thick and therefore difficult for measurement and sampling.
Gas oil contains paraffinic hydrocarbons (alkanes), naphthenic hydrocarbons (cycloalkanes), the rest is aromatic hydrocarbons (anthracene, indole, other arenes) and impurities containing heteroatoms. It cannot be used in ordinary car engines. Most often used as an additive. Tanks for storing and transporting gas oil must be protected from static electricity. Since gas oil belongs to the category of dangerous goods, special attention shall be paid to safety issues during transportation. The product is stored in a hermetically sealed container, in ventilated and covered dry warehouses at a distance of at least 1 m from heating devices, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight.
Accredited inspectors and laboratory technicians from CISS GROUP carry out gas oil inspection at any point of the supply chain.
The main stages of gas oil inspection:
Incoming/outgoing gas oil inspection.
It is carried out during the delivery of gas oil to storage tanks, ship / barge tanks, road tankers, rail tank cars, elevators or port tanks, or when it is removed from the warehouses of factories. The CISS GROUP inspector will visually assess the condition of the premises for their suitability for cargo storage; will check the cargo itself so that it is clean, homogeneous, not mixed with other cargo and free of foreign odors.
Acceptance of cleanliness containers / holds of vessels before loading gas oil.
This is a visual inspection of containers and empty holds for their cleanliness and suitability for gas oil transportation. The inspector carefully examines their internal surfaces, checks the integrity and performance of locks, hinges and other fasteners, rubber seals for the doors, openings and hold hatches.
Visual control of the loading process and sampling of gas oil.
During loading, the inspector controls the loading of gas oil, confirms the gross / net weight during re-weighing; in the case of loading gas oil into the holds - the initial, intermediate and final check of the weight of the loaded cargo by the draft survey method, controls the fumigation process; conducts a visual assessment of the quality of the cargo, takes samples in accordance with sampling rules, forms composite samples. At the end of the loading, the inspector will seal the loaded containers or holds. He enters all the data into reports to which the client gets direct access.
Note that the CISS GROUP loading inspection and sampling can be carried out around the clock on 24/7 basis.
Laboratory analyzes of gas oil quality.
Ciss Group check the quality of gas oil exclusively in accredited laboratories in accordance with the requirements of agreed per contract international standards. Usually for determination of gas oil quality the following standard parameters are used: density, mass fraction of total sulfur, mass fraction of mercaptan sulfur, flash point, mass fraction of mechanical impurities, color, fractional composition, mass fraction of water, pour point, viscosity, ash content, coking capacity, content of water-soluble acids and alkalis.
Photo and video report.
The inspector records each stage of the inspection with photos and videos. All such data contain the date and time of recorded stage of inspection. At the end of the gas oil inspection, CISS GROUP provides a detailed photo report of all stages of control and inspection.
Certificates.
Based on the results of the gas oil inspection the final certificate or reports are issued. The client can check the authenticity of the documents using a unique QR code, which is the "key" to the CISS GROUP website, where pdf versions of certificates are stored. Our certificates are protected with a digital cryptographic signature, which also guarantees their reliability and security.
Digitally signed certificates are often required by banks to verify the integrity of trading process when financing trade operations in the form of a letter of credit.
